The worst bank ever for car loans. I’ve only had my car loan with ucu for 3 months and every payment has been a hassle or had an error. My first payment was duplicated and no one informed me. One month they withdrew the wrong amount. So I decided to enroll in auto pay and that also was processed late and I was late on my last payment. During the correction of the last payment I realized they had duplicated my another payment in July. And the customer service is awful. No one can explain the errors clearly or give you the run around. They try to get you w low rates but in the end the interest rates are the same as other banks that are are a lot better

I used to love UCU and sings its praises. However, I cannot recommend it anymore. Customer support is abysmal. I have been unable to log into online banking for nearly a month, and support continues to give me the runaround. There is no direct number to call, my case keeps getting "referred," call backs are promised but never delivered, and emails are unanswered. If you don't care about being able to deposit money or pay bills, I guess bank with UCU?

I have been a member of UCU bank for almost 4 years. I have had problems with the bank because they do not know where my money is. Every month they take money from another bank account and when I call they tell me that they have not withdrawn the money. It’s just complicated..

I just got off the phone with a worker named Sonya and wasn’t given the proper assistance needed. She gave me a snarky attitude when I asked about company policy and was a horrible experience overall. She even hung up the phone in my face when I asked a question.

My mom has been a member since 1988 I use to be a member of this credit union their branch here on Sepulveda use to have great service now that they have remodel it they have the absolute worst service no signs telling you you need to check in with a teller for services with loans or any other banking needs that a teller can't help you with the wait time is ridiculous only 2 tellers working not enough help what so ever

Darlene, the Assistant Manager of Funding, is one of the most wonderful people I have ever had the pleasure of working with. She has helped me through the countless headaches involved in financing a vehicle, and is always on top of everything! She is extremely knowledgeable, professional, responsive, and so kind! 🙂

I have nothing but the best to say about UCU as a whole. Excellent customer care and support, and a superior alternative to big-name banks.

As a long time member of the University Credit Union (UCU) since 2004, I am now writing this review because I've had a VERY BAD experience with UCU recently. It affected my Credit Report and my Credit Score that I've worked so hard to maintain an "Exceptional" standing with the credit bureaus. I am NOT and WILL NOT recommend the University Credit Union to anyone!

The reasons are as follows:

1) I did not authorize UCU to open any accounts without my full understanding of it.

2) I was lied to and/or misguided by at least three UCU representatives when I spoke on the phone with them.

3) I reached out to UCU several times but no resolutions. When I was on the phone with Tiffiny John and other representatives in person and on the phone, all of them kept asking, "do you want to close the account?" I believe they all thinking that by asking me the latter question would be acceptable to me and closing the new account would fix the NEGATIVE impact on my credit report. As far as I know and as long as I've been closely watching my Credit Report, by closing a freshly opened new account does not fix the NEGATIVE impact on my Credit Report nor take back 10 points that was deducted from my Credit Score.

4) I had to "dispute" the account that UCU opened without my full understanding of it. I started the "dispute" three days ago and I know it's going to take time away from me. It's stressful thinking about it.

5) Based on my recent bad experience with UCU, their staff members do not have sufficient Customer Service training, Banking training, and Lending training.

I must say, I do not like to write negative reviews, but I felt that I need to because I believe I should inform others so people will not have to go through this bad, stressful and time consuming situation that I experienced with University Credit Union Bank.
