If I could give this institution zero stars, I would! My son bought a car and went through Truity for the loan. He went through financial difficulties and personal problems, which is not Truity’s problem-I understand that. Let me first say that I did not co-sign for this loan, his almost 80 year old grandfather did. However, I’m the one who was trying to get the payments caught up and everything back to square one. Both my son and his grandfather gave them permission to speak to me.
When I called Truity about the delinquent payments and what it would cost to get everything caught up including the current months payment, they told me a specific amount that it would be and that my son would be in good standing again. I explained that I am a full time student and as soon as my financial aid refund check cleared the bank, I would call them and make the payment in full. The car was up for collections and they did put a hold on that, but they could only do that until the 15th, and to call them to let them if the check still hadn’t cleared. Which was totally understandable and appreciated! I tried to call them on the 13th, 14th and 15th to let them know that we were still waiting for the checks to clear the bank, and could not get anyone to answer literally for three days, and me calling several times a day.
On the 18th I received a voicemail from their insurance department saying that they needed a copy of the insurance policy by the 25th, or they would have to place their own insurance on the car including casualty. The message did not come through until late on the 23rd. I immediately called the number and left a voicemail message stating that I had just received the message at 10:50+pm and there was insurance on the car, reading her the policy number, whose name is on the policy (my son’s) who the agent in town was, and everything that the policy codes. On the 25th they added their insurance to the loan, and the person I spoke with even stated that they received my message and once they could verify that the insurance was valid they would issue a “refund” (Makes no sense, but okay). I asked if they would like for me to email them a copy of insurance verification, which I did, and they verified that they received it and everything the policy has is exactly what they require and then some.
The next day, once my moneys had posted, I called to pay the past due and the current payment, to which they informed me that it was now almost $2000 more because of the CPI insurance that they added; I would now have to pay an additional $300 and my son would still be 47 days delinquent plus the payments were going to be $57 more per month for the next 36 months. They did see the insurance verification and the company they used for said CPI would take up to two weeks to verify the insurance is valid, remove the claim, and reconcile the account, and then there would be a refund on the loan-again, refund on a loan that hasn’t been paid off makes absolute no sense! To say I nearly had a stroke right then and there is an understatement. After an hour of this, and then the insurance person finally reconciling the account, they informed me that there was a lapse in my child’s insurance so the new amount. That was NEVER told to me when I spoke to the Credit Resolutions department earlier this month! I was NEVER told that the amount was going to increase that drastically. I lost it! The way I was treated by them was as if I had the loan with them, or had co-signed on it, and I was failing to meet my obligations to them! I do not even have an account with them! They informed me (after giving me the passcode to my ex father-in-law’s account) they weren’t even supposed to be talking to me because I wasn’t on the account. I immediately informed them that they were told by both my child and his grandfather that they gave their consent to talk with me since I was the who was going to be getting the loan current. As soon as I finish removing personal details from the video recording of myself and Christian in Credit Resolutions, I’ll be uploading it.

2 stars because of the inconvenience only:
I love truity. I've been banking with them for almost 9 years. Never really had an issue. Besides their drive through. It is the slowest drive through I've ever been through
It's 4:10 pm and there's currently like 14 cars waiting, With no movement. Drive throughs are supposed to be convenient.

Terrible terrible terrible experience at online banking. They lock your account with no warning (with thousands in account) and then make you wait days to access online account due to their own errors.

It’s crazy how slow the drive through is! Very inconvenient for someone who works all week until 5:30 to have to sit and wait 45 minutes when there’s hardly even a line.
