I got my car in July 2024 financed through gm. In October 2024 I was in an accident and I'm not going to lie from the accident I completely forgot to make a couple car payments I accept full responsibility for that that was my fault. I was told I was behind for October November. I made a payment on November 22nd. The app said it was processed and I got a confirmation email. I was still (and still am) trying to figure out what my insurance company was going to do with the car. If they were going to fix it or total it. I was late on Decembers payment but was told I can do a payment arrangement for November, December and it would include January as well so I wouldn't have to pay until February. I accepted this arrangement and I made 2 payments. First one on the 9th to start the arrangement and second one on the 10th to just make sure I wouldn't miss another payment while I'm still fighting with my insurance company. Both payments say processed in the app and I have conformation emails for both. Today January 21st I got a letter saying my car was repossessed. I called them asking why and apparently the payments didn't go through. I was never made aware of this. No phone calls, no emails, the payments still say they're good in the app. I asked why I didn't get anything saying the payments didn't go through because I would have done a different payment method, the lady on the phone said "honestly I'm not sure because normally we do let you know. But we had to get the car from the lot it was in because it was racking charges sitting there." She knew about my accident because it was noted in my account from the previous phone calls I've had with them. I still don't understand why they didn't tell me the payments never went through. My car has been repossessed and now I have to try to figure that out. I'm very disappointed because it's not like I wasn't trying to pay them. I was trying I just didn't know it wasn't going through because it showed up on my bank statements as they did go through. This could have all been avoided if I was told they didn't go through but I was never told.

This is related on my current past experience...... I am not giving any stars, I had too in order to post this statement....you are the worse GM Financial institute alive. My car got totaled by another driver, and it's been nothing but HELL from GM FINANCIAL & STATE FARM INSURANCE to get this all cleared especially when the other driver was at fault. Having to call on a daily basis these companies is ridiculous. I now bought a car from an AUCTION and let me tell you I should have done this YEARS AGO to save all the interest rate and getting RUDE & WORSE SERVICE and not only that but thru all of this even tho I had GAP INSURANCE what I got out of equity in my 2019 TRAX I was paid $135.63 THAT IS WHAT MY CAR WAS WORTH, not considering I paid out over $30,000 till the time of the accident. I WILL NEVER FINANCE ANOTHER NEW or USED CAR AGAIN, nor WILL I KEEP STATE FARM as my insurance ( DO YOU 2 COMPANIES WORK TOGETHER it sure seems like it) and if something goes wrong with my new car at least I can take my so called no more monthly pymt. of $556.30 and get it fixed without giving you my HARD earn money ever again.
GM FINANCIAL & STATE FARM ARE THE WORSE COMPANIES EVER. They want your money but not willing to give it to you when you have a major claim to deal with.
DEALERSHIPS- Want to sell you a car and then wipe their hands of you after you bought one.
FINANCE COMPANIES- Want your money or take your car from you and not work with you and charge you high interest rates.
INSURANCE COMPANIE- Take your monthly payment or/and if you have a claim they don't want to pay out.
Seem these 3 all work together.

Agreed with all the other comments. This is my 3rd time leasing a GMC and this last lease has been the worse experience I’ve ever had with any bank or financial institute. I was mailed a letter to extend my lease a month and per the letter it said just pay the monthly payment and nothing else needed to be done on my end and the dealership will contact me. Never heard from the dealership which is a whole different story because I also have nothing good to say about Bill Kay GMC Buick in Downers Grove either but that’s a different story. Anyways I started getting non stop spam risk calls 4 times a day with very vague messages nothing about my lease no identifying information and my payment for the month had cleared and was accepted by them, so I had no reason to believe there was an issue, and I didn’t hear for the actual dealership, so I wasn't worried. It finally clicked this might be GM so I answered and it was! The customer service rep had no information about the mail I received she acted like she couldn’t see it in her system. Once I found the letter with a reference code miraculously she “found” it in her system. Then I found the exact date my payment posted and interestingly she was also able to see that too! Then she changed the story and said you can only extend your lease a month if you have something on order with GM and that either way my car was due on May 24th. Even thought I paid to extend the month. I ended up just turning my car in even though I had it paid for another 26 days because I was honestly worried that because they are so unorganized I don’t know what they are capable of! I also waited to post this for a couple weeks because I don't want any kind of retaliation. I sought legal advice and was told technically I’m out of contract with them but since they accepted the payment they can’t repossess the car or mess with my credit, but I still feel like they would and then I would have to deal with that headache. So they got my money and their car back. However they did wait one day into the extended month to start calling me so I’m sure since I had the car in my possession for 4 days they would call that a month. I would have liked to trade in and lease again but I would NEVER with GM. There are so many better options, do not use GM these cars are not cheap and you want to make sure you don’t have to worry about the inadequacies of the loan company. They treated me very poorly for no reason, like I said this was my 3rd lease car with them since 2016 not that I expect that to mean anything but I’m concerned this company is going downhill and don’t want to be part of that. I was treated like a huge Inconvenience. Don't be like me and ignore the red flags, take your money elsewhere!

This is the 2nd month in a row that I've been unable to make my car payment online due to the app AND THE WEBSITE being "down for maintenance ". That being said, I either have the option to mail it in, or pay on the automated service for a $2 fee.....what!?! I've financed cars with ally auto, and capital one, being able to pay both online every month, no issues, and GM financial can't even get this together? I called to see if I could pay over the phone and skip the fee, nope, they won't do it. This is.....wild. inexcusable on GMs part. Charging customers to literally make their payment due to incompetence on their part.

I just had the most Dreadful conversation if you want to call it that with an agent named SONDRA. 1-800...
I am on my last payment for my car which should be a celebration I should be treated nicely after the huge amount of money I paid on my car & instead of celebrating & being treated kindly my experience was extremely awful she was extremely rude yelling & screaming talking over me I couldn't ask any questions I couldn't verify what she was saying she was interrupting me I'm actually shocked with her behavior because of her I will never purchase another car from this company she ruined my experience for my last payment which I should be celebrating instead of feeling hurt uncomfortable & upset she should be ashamed of herself & she should not have the position that she's in somebody else deserves that job that she has because she does not know how to work with Clients she's giving the business an awful name I will no longer purchase another vehicle from this company thanks to SONDRA thank you for ruining my one and only chance to celebrate the fact that that was my last payment which took years to pay off. SONDRA you should be ashamed of yourself to treat clients that way. Way out of hand. No excuse
