Dacia my waitress and was absolutely fantastic.. This was my first time to a Black Eyed Peas and Dacia had the chef make me a sample plate to try some of the most popular things before I ordered. So helpful!! Everything I got was fresh, hot, yummy and affordable

They closed down the Black eyed pea in my state so I haven't been to a Black eyed pea in about 20 years.
Let me say that it was every bit as good as I remembered!
They give you complementary rolls and butter. I was a little sad about them not giving the cornbread. However, I was happy to see they were offering skillet cornbread as an appetizer. It was the best cornbread I've had in my life. My daughter got the fried shrimp with fries and corn. Everything was hot and well seasoned.
I got the veggie plate: onion rings, salad, red beans and rice, glazed carrots, and apples. Everything tasted just like I remembered!

Great music, good portions, good service, horrible food, not safe for my child.

The ONLY high chair for my infant had a broken buckle. When I asked for one that wasn't broken, they offered a booster because they have no high chairs

Have you ever had ribs that the meat was as hard as the bone? Well I just did. Picked up the bone, and the meat came right off. I was very excited. Then I picked up the solid piece of meat to discover that the reason they included a steak knife is because it's so hard it takes a knife to cut. Couldn't even chew it and my mother (who has dentures) was physically unable to chew it at all. Okra was burnt black. Mashed potatoes was delicious as was their spicy loaded potato.

The kids mac and cheese was a full adult size portion with a huge 3.5-4" diameter cookie. I literally fed both my kids off one of their orders and boxed the other. Still had leftovers. The kids also get drawing tablets and a menu. Very cute, kids loved it. I attached a photo of how much was leftover from the mac and cheese that TWO kids ate.

Easily the worst ribs I've ever had. Chicken fried steak was about 5/16" thick (thin), burnt yet chewy to the point you could have told me it was chicken fried liver and I would have believed you. Except for the indistinguishable "I don't clean off the old grease before adding new oil" flavor it was flavorless

Black-eyed Pea is one of my favorite restaurants. It's a shame they no longer have locations in the DFW area, especially since the first Black-eyed Pea opened in the Oak Lawn neighborhood of Dallas. Fortunately, when I travel to Colorado, I can still enjoy Black-eyed Pea, as they have restaurants there, and I make a point to visit whenever I can. I've found that the food and service are just as good as they were when they operated in Texas. The only thing missing at the Colorado locations, compared to the former DFW restaurants, is the Southern hospitality and the good old Texas drawl.

It was an amazing and very delicious visit! Everything eas perfectly cooked and we weren't disappointed by a single thing. The server was super friendly too! Such a great atmosphere there and some super cool decor throughout. We ordered the Texas-sized Chicken Fried Steak with squash casserole/Mashed potatoes and gravy, Irish Pie (shredded pot roast and veggies soooo good!) with fried okra/fried corn on the cob (100% recommend!!!) The kids meals come with a cookie and they were super excited for their dessert after eating and of course them fresh never ending rolls with butter. All sooo delicious and we can't wait to go back and try more things on their menu.
Excited to try dessert next time. We just got too full this visit.
