Different things have landed my family in the emergency room twice in the last three weeks.
First, my one year-old had a Febrile seizure in the middle of the night. We were in and out quickly and received great care from both doctor and nurses.
Then yesterday, I became very dehydrated from a virus. There were some other issues that led to a CT scan and blood tests.

From triage to check out, I was cared for by roughly 10 people, and every single one of them was very professional, quick and kind.
Thank you Ludington Hospital Emergency Staff!

Worst hospital I have ever been to, hands down. I was helping a friend in need who fell into a fence and the cut was very deep, about a quarter inch thick, and about 7 inches long. We came in while it was actively bleeding and dripping on the floor. Thankfully, they wheeled her into a room and only had to wait five minutes but put us in a room that seemed to be an old bathroom? Even the nurse told us it was called “the reject room.” We waited TWO HOURS to get any care whatsoever even coming out of the room three or four times to ask where the doctor was. The doctor came in and did not put on sterile gloves, and only numbed certain parts of the wound. In the middle of the stitching he had to stop to put in more numbing shots cause my friend could feel the stitches. She ended up getting 23 stitches and it’s unbelievable we had to wait two hours for any help in the reject room. He quickly ended and told us he “needed” to go work on someone’s foot. Within the next couple weeks, we were actively finding inches of string coming out of the closed wound and we were told it was dead skin when there were FIBERS on the string? There are more instances we’ve been to the hospital and not being checked on all night when trying to seek mental help. We were not allowed to make phone calls to family members and were told it was “too late” to make any phone call. Being put in paper clothes that were far too see-through and felt like an invasion of privacy. Another time we needed a wound mended they poured glue all over the open wound and then stuck a bandaid over it, so when we tried taking the bandaid off it opened the wound back up and started bleeding again. Oh, not to mention that was five days after getting it “glued.” I would’ve done a better job blindfolded and intoxicated than the doctors at this place. If I could give negative stars I absolutely would.

Arrived at ER at spectrum Ludington hospital approximately 3:45 on Saturday September 14 and was processed through the paperwork and sat down in an empty lobby. 10 minutes later a man called us back and asked about my husband’s injury, he cut lengthwise from bottom of first finger around to his thumb. It was very deep, I opened the cut at home and I could have put a golf ball in it. I closed it and we headed to ER.
We were advised a nurse would be in soon, upon arriving the nurse was chatty and soon 15 minutes had passed of talking about car accidents, hunting etc. The doctor pocked him head in and said numb has hand, more conversation and after another 10/15 minutes nurse applied the numbing solution. More conversation, doctor came in a while after that and stitches the cut!!!
They did NOT open the wound or clean it! They did NOT ask if my husband had received a tetanus shot recently and didn’t check if nerves or tendons were severed. When the doctor left he said nurse would come back, after 30 minutes of waiting my husband said let’s go, I’m tired of waiting.

Went in for an extremely blad nosebleed call back because I noticed I was still dripping blood. I was told that they couldn't tell me anything over the phone I would have to come, pay them again to come and check myself in when all I need to know is if it was normal for it, to still have a little bit of dripping. Coming out, but instead of giving actual good patient care, they want me to pay them to come back in there for a simple question, absolute worst

After a recent ER visit I was slightly disappointed with the level of care. I had been in an accident and complained about soreness around my neck and foot. They never addressed the foot issue. After they were releasing me and pulling the heart leads off, the aid NEVER removed the electrodes. There were about 20 stuck to me that I needed to remove. I have never had EKGs done where they on purpose left stuff on my skin, and I get 2 every year.

There is a severe lack of communication among hospital staff and the ER docs are condescending. Also, hospital staff talk bad about each other behind each other's backs in front of patients and patient caregivers. If you can go elsewhere, go elsewhere. They made improvements to the building and equipment, but that's it. It's gone way downhill over the last couple years. Did I mention they lose patients whenever someone forgets to write names on the admission board? Took 45 minutes to track our client down because someone didn't write her name on the board when she arrived via ambulance. You couldn't pay me $100/hr to work in this environment.

I have been around people who had health issues for years. Being a caregiver is not easy business. This hospital tries to do it's best to help those in need, while at the same time, keeping family and friends of these patients informed. There is no perfect solution in life. Being a caregiver and facility of care takes a lot of a sacrifice. Thank you all at this hospital for being there in our time of need. Your jobs are not easy, and many times, you might feel unappreciated. YOU ARE appreciated.

Husband and I are having fertility issues, he goes in to turn his specimen in and were told they can't accept during the time frame we came in and is making him do it all over again. The lab in this hospital is a joke and the fact you have to do this for fertility or because your doctor asked you to bur you can only drop it off in a specified time? Then tell them you can't do those times cause you work and get told it doesn't matter, not to mention they purposely made my husband wait the 30 minutes in a room to get "an answer" for them to make sure the specimen was past its time limit so they can say no. ER here sucks too. IF YOU WANT GOOD PATIENT TREATMENT AND PEOPLE WHO CARE IT IS NOT HERE DO NOT GO HERE. TRAVEL IF YOU MUST. DONT BELIEVE READ THE OTHER REVIEWS
