Avoid This Place at All Costs!

I had an absolutely terrible experience with Dagwood Auto. They are unprofessional, dishonest, and way overpriced. I took my car in for what should have been a simple repair, but they kept giving me the runaround, adding unnecessary charges, and taking forever to get anything done.

At first, they quoted me one price, but by the time the job was finished, the cost had mysteriously gone up hundreds of dollars. When I asked for an explanation, I got nothing but vague excuses. On top of that, my car wasn’t even fully fixed when I got it back—I had to take it somewhere else to have the job done right.

Customer service was just as bad. The staff was rude and dismissive, acting like they were doing me a favor by working on my car. I should have trusted the other negative reviews because this place is a scam.

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. I wouldn’t trust these guys with a bicycle, let alone a car.

I have been bringing my cars here for almost 8 years. I trust them with my life (literally). Darrin will always do what he can to take care of your vehicles at the lowest price he can. They care more about their customers safety than profit - always have. Moving here at 17 with no family around, I appreciate having found Dagwoods to help keep me safe on the road!!

Gave 1 star just because they're nice. Do not take your diesel to Dagwoods in Mt pleasant. They ordered the wrong parts , put the correct parts on wrong and had to re do it, AND charged $7k without actually fixing the problem. We have them the go ahead to fix it - full fuel system repair and clean out. They didn't get it done and we had to take it to another place after paying $7k for basically nothing but a new fuel pump. Our lesson learned the hard way, look elsewhere for your diesel repair.

These guys are awesome. Had my studs break off and by the next day at 8am, I was taken care of with 2 wheel stud replacements in well under 45 minutes. $149 roughly out the door.

Contrary to Chris Curtis's review suggesting the mechanic is dishonest - rotors do need to be changed when brake pads are changed as you will have uneven wear, especially considering the liability perspective of a shop.

Never tried to upsell me anything, just got the job done and quickly. I will be back if I am in the area and need further work. Thanks again!

My truck needed repairs, and the closest option was this auto shop. I used my warranty, which covered the cost of the repairs. However, when I went to pick up my vehicle, Dagwood didn’t inform me about the extra $300 charge beyond what the warranty would cover. (Aren’t auto shops supposed to notify you about additional costs before starting the work? 🤔) Their behavior was both greedy and dishonest. Please avoid supporting this shop – we need to stop letting unscrupulous mechanics take advantage of us!

Dishonest, Deceitful is what the first thing that I can think of to describe this business. My son is a college student at CMU. His car broke down so we made calls around town to see who can fit in me. Of course these guys were available🚩 we used the tow truck company that they wanted to show good faith. After the inspection was done by the shop, I was told it could cause me $1500. I said fine. We have a car warranty and they said it was covered under that but they will have to send out an inspector two hours later. I got a call and was told it was something different.😳 A lot less than $1500 but nevertheless, I have a warranty, so he proceeded to do the work come to find out he have to ship it to the dealer to complete the work without telling me that it couldn’t be done at his shop. So I talk to my warranty company and they inform me that they are overcharged me for the work that’s being done and gave us two separate invoices which I had to show the warranty company to receive some of my money back wow! They even had the nerve to give me advice 😭 I have no idea how this place gets 4 stars I will be making a complaint to the Better Business Bureau

I took my car in for leaking transmission lines. The connectors were never changed and my car purged transmission fluid on my way to work. Car has shifted hard since then.

Easy mistake right? Tried giving them a second chance. Made an appt 3 days in advance. Made sure to drop it off the night before. They still didn't have it in 8 hours after the appt. Their defense, I missed the Dropbox. They still couldn't call me to check if I was keeping it though 🤷🏼‍♂️

Going there might have actually caused MORE damage to my car...

Needed emergency repair needed on shock tower of classic truck. Got me in within minutes, replaced parts, got it out the door in 45 min. Highly recomend.
