Discover was the first card I ever had. Got it right out of college, 30 years ago. But I have a recurring charge that they cannot stop. I disputed the charge in Dec of 23 and also in December of 24. There is no way for me to contact the company. The company number is an endless loop of recorded messages. Discover told me they would block charges from the company, but then allowed them to continue to charge me. I disputed the charge two years in row and lost both times. Discover always sides with the merchant because that’s what’s easiest for them. And they may tell you that they can block a company from charging but that’s a lie. On top of that they were rude to me about it. I closed my account because Discover doesn’t protect their customers.

I have had an account since 2019 with nothing but great experiences. I applied to open another card, I can not express how frustrating, irritating, annoying the process to open a card has been. The employees are rude as hell, I am on my 5th attempt to get a notary to approve that I am who I am, because every time it’s declined discover has given a bill shot excuse

❗️MUST READ ❗️ this is my original credit card as of 2020, and at first they seemed great. The past 2 years with this credit card has been garbage. Interest are literally through the roof, when calling to see if possible to lower interest no one determines, only someone automated & they say you’ll receive a letter in the mail stating why “your interest could not be lowered” yet the letter states no reason what so ever. I used to recommend this company for credit to everyone now I wouldn’t wish it up on my worst enemy.

Awful credit card services. Was a customer for four years and I called in my payment. They said they never got it because they screwed up and reported me 30 days late. Supervisor Eve from DISCOVER New Jersey was the worst.

I have a Discover account and called to update my payment arrangement plan, only to find out that a couple months of payments had not been taken out of my checking account for autopay when I had the money set aside in my account for the autopay plan.
Furthermore, this likely has caused significant marks on my credit, and on the same call, they proceeded to tell me I am NO LONGER IN GOOD STANDING with the company and likely, action has been taken against me for my multiple missed payments.
Why didn't anyone inform me about the missed payments? I have been diligently and faithfully making payments, even calling at the beginning of the autopay collection to make sure payments were going through because I was skeptical about autopay, but the rep. at that time said the company was receiving my automatic payments just fine, so I stopped calling after that. If I had been informed that there was some system issue or some other issue with this autopay plan, I would have just cancelled the plan and continued paying over the phone as I had did in the past.

To add insult to injury, the customer service rep. was very apathetic and rude, not really having a caring attitude about the situation and clearly wanting me to get off her line. I wasn't being rude, screaming or shouting, cussing, calling anyone out of their name, threatening anyone, or acting condescending, I was being very understanding, polite, and very calm. I was very hurt, discouraged and heartbroken after dealing with the customer service rep.

The supervisor wasn't rude, but did not do anything to remedy the situation, only saying that they apologize for action being taken against me and didn't realize I wasn't in the knowing about payments not going through, but did note that it did show on my account that prior to the missed payments, I had been making on time payments and had communicated with reps a lot, however they said my account was in the red and had been sent off to another department for further action. After that, the supervisor said that my situation was out of their hands and nothing further could be done.

Let this be a warning to you all, do not do business with Discover. They don't care about their customers, are very rude, have poor communication with customers, and will do anything to get over on a customer so that they can make more money off of them.

They don't care about you at all, none of you, only the business.

Avoid this credit card! Discover consistently finds loopholes to deny cashback bonuses that aren't clearly stated. Their touted "U.S. Customer Service" is useless when they only are there to deny fulfilling their promotions.

So far and I can only speak for my own experience it’s only company available 24/7 they answer the phone in seconds always and I never have a single problem. I pay my bill on time every month and I earn points , my credit score has gone up so high and they have been the only company I have dealt with in the past two years that every employee is friendly . Hope it stays like that but I have been very pleased. Seamless interaction and not one issue.

Paying the monthly payment to paying the full credit card amount for them to tell me they closed my account because of a letter I wasn’t aware of!!! So they took my money closed my account without me knowing anything!!! But still taking monthly payments!!!
