Very unhappy with the fraud detection department. On one hand a transaction with DD will be declined so they can verify I’m spending xx number of dollars on a food delivery, then when real fraud is detected they are now and only now reviewing transactions as far back as November. Still not resolved I’ve had. Charges for overdraft because of this and it’s not resolved. I have to go to the bank several times now for a new card because of fraud concerns because it takes 2 weeks to receive one by mail. Once it’s straightened out (if it ever is) I am changing g credit unions.

Hours suck. Closed Saturday’s ? Absolutely the most inconvenient lending institution I have ever dealt with. Making payments and getting my title. Everything has been a headache. Definitely don’t recommend. My trucks been paid off for two years now and I still don’t have a title because they won’t mail it to my new address without sending all kinds of verifications including bills from my current address, etc. The easiest option is to come pick it up in person, but with the inconvenient hours and closed on weekends makes it just that much more of a headache. Way better institutions to deal with for auto lending.

Not to this branch specifically, I do enjoy the ladies who work here. But this CU is horrible. I’ve been a member since 2019 and I’ve had constant issues with fraud and security issues. I am CURRENTLY dealing with a fraud issue and it is now effecting my partners bank and he doesn’t even bank with them. I now have to get another new debit card after getting a new one 4 months ago ….. + there’s all this fraud going on with transactions. In totally I have gone through 5-7 debit cards. Idk what type of security systems they have but it’s horrible.

Terrible customer service when you call this place and one person in particular is especial rude: Jo Garner. She is condescending and extremely unhelpful. Do not bank here, most of the staff that I’ve encountered via phone are largely inexperienced and have said multiple times that they don’t know how to handle certain issues. Additionally banking hours are not convenient. I do NOT recommend, consider a bank that has spent the time to better train and prepare staff to interact with customers in a meaningful and helpful way.

I had left the below review as a 1-star a few years ago when this branch opened:

Nice employees but really dumb bank branch? It just has a few self serve machines no actual tellers.

And now I wish I had saved the 1-star for the fact that I'm now being charge late fees on 0$ credit card balances. It's happened several times now where I will pay off my balance (with multiple payments required each time because for some reason their system can't do a full payoff and will keep recharging you several cents) and then randomly 2 months later will be assessed a late fee to a credit card balance of $0.

Check your statements folks, because if you miss the random late fee and don't use your FCU credit card often it will compound and stack each month thereafter. I had tried to complain to support through the messaging on the app, but got some nonsense answer and it was easier to pay the few dollars at the time than deal with the headache.

As a semihumorous update to the original review, they now have a receptionist-esque person to assist people with using the self serve machines instead of actual tellers.

After being a member for over 10 years I find that this bank doesn't help their members, not to mention the gross experience I had with one of their loan specialist named Shamika Burden. She is rude and very unprofessional with a nasty attitude and this bank wants to be referred to people's families and friends? They must be kidding. At first when I started banking at Freedom I was really happy with their services, but not anymore. I find it very hard this days.
