If only I could give negative stats. Had a balance go to them from a past apartment complex and yes it's a collection agency but I have never had to deal with such rude, unprofessional, and absolutely unbelievable people in my life and I do collections for a living. The first time they called I said I couldn't make payments as I was trying to catch up my mortgage payments and was told "well WHEN you lose your house you won't be able to rent anywhere with this on your credit" Ever since it's been daily calls. I finally answered to give my bankruptcy lawyers information and was told I'd have to go online to enter it. When I refused he took the information and wouldn't accept me not giving him the chapter, I told him I was not obligated to do that and he could contact the lawyer, he said he wouldn't do that and he would put it in line to go up to legal then he hung up the phone. I feel horrible for anyone who has to deal with this company. If you can get the debt paid down as quick as possible, do it and get that bill out from them.

I reached out on my own to inquire about a debt that appeared on my credit without any prior notice, with no prior contact from the collector as the representative stated himself. Instead of receiving a clear explanation, I was met with an unprofessional and condescending attitude. The representative offered no helpful information and instead insinuated that I must not have the money to pay, saying, “It’s just [X amount],” as if the amount was insignificant and I was unreasonable for asking questions. I contacted them in good faith, hoping to understand the situation not to be spoken down to or judged. The lack of professionalism and basic respect is all the representative knows. That’s why business reviews are bad, at least they are consistent at being bad.

If I could give negative stats I absolutely would. Had a debt from a previous apartment sent to this agency. Non stop harassment calls daily on a debt I explained and had proof was not mine. The damage being charged was damage already there upon my move in and the management was aware and said this would be properly documented. Month after move out I get a call from this lame company demanding payment. I disputed it with them, 3 times, never got a reply to the dispute. Each time they call they say my dispute was denied, but HOW when I have CLEAR PROOF of preexisting carpet damage? I have reached out to the CEO of the property that sent this to this office for a proper resolution. I pray no one ever has to deal with them here. Even the supervisors are so incredibly rude and disrespectful. Crazy to think companies like this are even existent.

I wish I could give this company negative stars! This is a horrible debt collection agency . Columbia debt recovery DBA Genesis is a totally incompetent and unprofessional company. They do not investigate disputes and I was in fact told by one of the supervisors that the disputes mean nothing to them and that I can either pay it or take it to court . I provided correspondence between the original company it stated this balance was not owed and that the charges have been reversed. I was also assured that no all collection activities would cease and they sent my account to collections the next day and it went in my credit report ! I called the original collector of the account to inform them of this and I was told once again that they have reversed the charges and that I’m actually owed a credit now . They will be reaching out to Genesis in regard to the balance that is not owed and also how they have chosen to handle my account . Consumers please be aware of this company and businesses that are looking for reliable collection agency , this is not the one if you truly have hopes of receiving the collection .

They are so rude. Not willing to negotiate or help you out. Even if you were wrongfully screwed over. They are very unprofessional. They will try and deny ever being rude or harassing you. Have no customer service skills. Will tell you how you should have been smarter about your decision. When is clearly not their place nor is it professional at all. They will also add hundreds of dollars to your charge and try and try to convince you they didn’t.
