I had a great experience at LaFontaine Buick GMC in Lansing. I traded in my Chevy Equinox lease and got a new GMC Terrain, and the whole process couldn’t have been smoother. Stefan, our salesman, was excellent—easy to work with and very helpful throughout. Tomi, the finance manager, was also friendly and got us a great deal. Despite the dealership being an hour away, they made it well worth the trip. They offered a competitive deal and handled all the pricing and paperwork over the phone in advance. It was one of the most hassle-free car-buying experiences I’ve had. I’d highly recommend Stefan!

I had a full electrical shut down on my 2017 GMC Acadia. So I had it towed to the dealership. While I was able to easily get scheduled in for the repair, unfortunately the holidays push back the start of the repair a couple of days beyond the scheduled start date. I wasn’t informed of the delay until called for a status on my repair.
I will say the repair was complete and the vehicle runs great.
What I was not happy about was the fact that they left my floor compartment for the battery wide open and did not replace the floor mats, and they left greasy rust marks on the doors knobs and on the roof rack on both sides of my car. In effect, there wasn’t any cleanup or wipe down following the repair and no apology for not being able to get to it. I had to wash the car, wipe down the grease and put the battery compartment and floor mats back in tact to haul my kids again. Not thrilled.

Our car was rear-ended in September 2024. We took it to LA Fontaines body shop for repair. They were able to fix the visible issues but there were some weird error codes they noticed which they cleared. They didnt tell us about the codes till we brought it back in a few weeks later with little driving because the key fob stopped working. We brought it back to the body shop and they tested it and found new error codes and told us about the old ones. We were told they most likely cut a wire which was causing a short and to take it to the service department at LA Fontaine which we did.

The service department could not find anything wrong with it and said it would be safe to drive. We dealt with the key fob not working unless close to the dash for the next 6 months.

Then today, while driving down a straight road, the dash goes black and the brakes locked up while doing 40 miles an hour down the road. The stabilitrac light flashed then everything came back on. The dash continued to go dark 3 more times but the brakes didn't lock up...instead the accelerator was being used so the engine just revved.

Now I have been on hold for 30 minutes while trying to talk to their service department.

UPDATED 2 days later. Ended up being on hold for 1 hr and 15 minutes. During that time I drove to the service department. When I arrived, there were multiple service reps standing around, not on the phone and not helping a customer. Yet, I was still on hold. I asked for the service manager, Jason, and showed him my phone still on hold with his service department. I was told that they were going to look at the issue on Friday but received no updates beyond a text to check the status of the vehicle. When clicking on the link, we just see that it is sitting there, no work done.

I was pushing very close to the end of my milage, while not being close to the end of my lease. I reached out to Lafontaine GMC via their online request and was contacted almost immediately by Michael Doyle. I cannot express how easy he and the rest of the team at LaFontaine made this process. In just a few days he was able not only get me in a vehicle, but got me in the vehicle that I wanted, not just needed. I look forward to doing more business with them in the future!
