The stretch of US-31 in Oceana County is poorly treated in the winter time and creates a massive hazard for travelers. Be extremely cautious in this area since they do NOT care about motorists. My friend was in a horrible accident near Shelby MM 142 due to untreated roads and black ice. The tow truck driver advised that 8 accidents had already happened that day in that area despite it being only 10:30am. You should be responsible for the unavoidable accidents and potential fatalities that will happen in this area.
They have snow plows but they sit in the median of the highway instead of treating the roads.

You can blame big gretch all you want but you guys have been given the money to fix the roads and you prioritize it so poorly. Roads are never plowed consistently, gravel roads don't get smoothed down properly by you guys, only the state trucks can seem to do it right, and somehow when you guys "fix" a road you end up redoing the better half. Last time I checked, nearly 20% of Michigan roads are considered dangerous to drive on. Many of them in this county.

Have to give them two stars at least the road is open LoL I called n office visit live 168th n walkerville also a campground person in office was more than hospitable next day different person was the gate keeper from Steven king !! I own a business on this road request state camping signs because it's not zoned was denied 🤔 I pay local n state business taxes and bring a considered amount of money and business to the town this concerns me I also mentioned that the road was caving in under the weight of.simple refuse trucks wherever they stopped indicating the sub structure is decaying mentioned that as well now I know the township has legitimate respectful business there in I'm considering taking it upstairs to other level of government MICHIGAN you have holes in road way encompassed with sand traps and appear whenever a ups truck ot farmer unload equipment so one of the evening Iive had a customer pulling camper dark tow vehicle fell in gorge and toung jack caught the dirt in sand this probably will hurt my reviews howed they travel from Ohio without a problem they phoned me and I witnessed it ❓question is does oceana want residents visiting or not what's going to support the township of walkerville. If I sell my business for vacant farmers ? Like I said I'm going up the ladder first Michigan governor ohh motorcycle beware of you hot these pits your front tire is going sideways and your taking flight they come up without warning. A 20 mph is too fast for unexpected over the top of hills they never mow until December for weeds on the side watch the deer etc their policies are to only brine roads twice regardless of the conditions ? Is that equivalent to snow plowing the dust in trees and lakes from wild fire's ?❓ I'll be governor advocate and tourism administration as well 😔 I've made a life here it's not getting destroyed !?

Road management is horrible. Every gravel Road is horrible. Management needs to change. Mowing the side of the road for the first time in middle of October.

Absolutely worthless. Foot of snow drops on the roads, one swipe up the middle and a hearty good luck is all you get with these guys in the smaller townships, while smaller roads are not plowed at all till days later. Heaven forbid someone has an emergency and happens to live on a smaller road.

I travel everyday for work from Shelby to Holland & Oceana County is the "WORST" for snow removal!!
Main roads, back roads, M20 & often US 31 is just terrible!!!
I believe Oceana County could take tips from surrounding counties & see how it's done right & much safer for ALL drivers!!
We pay "TAXES" & better service is REQUIRED!!
I say it like it is!!!
FIX OUR ROADS!!

Words literally cannot begin to describe how horrible this road commission is. I have never seen more lazy work done than the people who run this place. During the winter, the roads here get pretty bad. The road commission doesn't do hardly anything about it though. Especially where my family lives. I feel like the people here need that actually do their jobs

I travel throughout Michigan daily, and Oceana County has the best maintained roads for this winter season. Thanks for the great work and dedicated effort in providing a safe travel environment for the driving public.
