I can honestly say one of the worst banking experiences I’ve ever had. I opened this account only two weeks ago and since then I have had my account frozen twice for “suspicious activity”. When I called customer service to find out what the activity was and how to unlock my account no one was able to remove the lock and I was told to call fraud prevention. When I called fraud prevention they said my account wasn’t on hold because of that and they had no case opened. I basically was shuffled back and forth for 2-3 days because no one knew which department could resolve the issue. I was told multiple times that it would get resolved and that someone would call me back. I was never called back by anyone. In the meantime I wasn’t able to access online banking and couldn’t use my debit card. Basically I had no access to my money for 3 days and no response. After having this account opened less than 3 weeks I have to close it now out of frustration and the fact that this has happened twice in two weeks with me not being able to access my money. This bank doesn’t have anyone that can help adequately assist you after hours, just an “overflow” call center that isn’t able to complete most transactions. You will not receive callbacks in a timely manner and if you’re ever in an emergency and need to access your funds quickly, and this bank just decides to “locks” your account and you will be screwed. Most banks will send you text alerts or phone calls if they suspect suspicious activity but SFFCU will just block everything and then you are stuck making phone call after phone call to try and get someone to resolve the issue. Phone representative are nice and try to help, but honestly it seems like none of the departments (general customer service, fraud prevention, card services) seems to know what anyone else does. It seems like all the departments are completely outsourced and none of their systems are actually integrated. Biggest mistake ever leaving my bank for SFFCU!

I have never had a credit union advocate so hard for me when dealing with a car dealership. Giovanni Hernandez went above and beyond to be sure that all my paperwork for my new car loan was accurate with the dealership before driving off. He was quick with his responses to emails and he stayed on top of everything every step of the way. I’m grateful for him and he was a huge blessing for me in this process, the dealership was even impressed at how hard he worked to be sure that everything was accurate. As a woman, he made things that much easier for me and I can’t thank him enough. God bless him and his family 🩷

just called in to get service for my car note. the lady that helped me was snippy with her “customer service”. When read me the disclosure message which I didn’t hear clearly she repeated it in a condescending way. which I couldn’t argue with, because how helpful would she be if I did right. So, with my second request I’ve been having an issue where I couldn’t deposit cash on two occasions. She stated I can go into the branch and see if they could help, maybe the card is not connecting with the transaction, it was just that specific machine that needs service, but other customers haven’t had the issue with depositing. It just didn’t seem helpful and gave more of a “it must just be your card with the problem, and I can’t help”.

Just wanted to say thanks for having the new system up, for those of us who do our banking Online. It wasn't available online for over a week and a half before you got It switched over. It's shows up very nicely now. Thanks. But wait! Part 2: The San Francisco Credit Union online website had me use the onetime passcode every time I wanted to see my account no matter If I selected to not do that anymore. I get in touch with them 8 times to fix this problem, and now I can't even get into my account online anymore. This new development has gone on for a week and a half so far with no solution in sight. This Is the highlight of online banking? When do I get my online account back. Nobody knows anything. Computer experts. Watch out for The San Francisco Credit Union's ability to solve problems quickly. I still can't get into my account.

Absolute worst service. They are so snotty and rude and treat their customers like we are beneath them. My husband and I took out our mortgage through SF Federal Credit Union and it’s been a nightmare ever since. Can not wait to refinance. I would honestly pay more to never have to work with them again.

They own me two month insurance money by saying that i don't have insurance. After i submitted insurance policy, they refunded me one of three month insurance money. Now, they still own me two months insurance money even I paid off my loan. Don't go with them since they are sluggish and not responsible for what they did. I will go to small claim court to get my money back. I have wasted several hours on complaining this issue to their customer service. will never do business with them again.

Very good customer experience in dealing with a car refinance. All communication was via secure email. Martin Mejia was responsive and detailed. An overall very good experience.
