Absolutely worst social security office in the state. Complete lack of competency and zero expediancy. I was there just to pick up a document which was already ordered and on location, and I had to wait in the lobby for an hour just to be handed the document, which literally took 10 seconds to do. My advice is take the time to drive to ANY other location. It will save you time and stress.

So I see complaints in these reviews about a man who is ex military and extremely rude who works at the Jackson office , well I am certain that’s who I dealt with today. His behavior and manners (or lack of) is ridiculous. I asked a question about credits for disability claims , something I have been dealing with for the last 2 years. He insisted credits have nothing to do with disability claims , which is the complete opposite of what I have been told by every other customer service representative for SSA over the last 2 years as well as our lawyers. Anyways after having to deal with him telling me I was wrong and “ I need to get the credits out of my head “ among other rude and immature behavior. I called the 1800 line for the US verses the one for my local office and turns out he was wrong, which I knew but for the love of God get him off the phone lines and removed him from the customer service line. I wonder how many people out there have talked to him and been mislead causing a negative impact on their life.

Seriously the service these people provide for Jackson and the surrounding areas is awesome. By far the best SOS office I have visited. I have been to 4 since graduating HS. I was in recently and had the pleasure of working with Corinna. She helped me with my problems and did it in the most utmost professional matter. She deserves a big shout out and kudos. For helping me with multiple things at once and cannot commend her enough for the hard work she did and getting stuff straightened around for my dad. Thanks again!

Ms. Harris of the Jackson, Michigan office was amazing, she set me up for a phone call appointment. She went over all of the information I needed to complete my SSA application. Chris called me within 60 minutes and in 24 minutes, I was signed up for SSA benefits. Ms Harris and Chris were exceptional.

Went in to change name on card. Had paperwork ready to go before I arrived and was in and out within 10 minutes. Can't really get much better than that.

Gave up after 45 minutes on hold with Jackson SS office. Guess I know where my day will be spent tomorrow and as a quadriplegic it's not easy. I am locked out on my on-line account and their on-line redirection is zero help but you get no assistance there either. WTH. 👎

I spoke with a women named Renaee, and she has to be the worst human being I ever spoke with. My father sadly passed away before he could collect the disability that had been owed to him for years. My brother and I supported him financially at this very difficult time. I called to check the status on the claim and she informed me the money wasn't ours anyway so it shouldn't matter if it could take abother 2 plus years to return to us. She literally told me I was rude and it wasn't our money anyway. Id say it was the worst customer service ever, except united airlines has set that bar pretty high recently. At least I wasn't knocked out and dragged from my seat. Small victories.

I don’t know why they bother having the 800 number listed when they forward the call directly to Jackson anyways. This is the pure definition of inaccessibility. I won’t be at the appointment today but I can’t tell you that without 1.5 hours of hold time sooooo 🤷🏻‍♀️
